Mentira! Rep. Loretta Sanchez Should Come Clean Before it’s Too Late
18 Dec 2009After being accused of working for independent candidate Ceci Iglesias out in Orange County (seriously, I am supposedly working on her campaign from Chicago), I was a little worried about the picture of Congresswoman Loretta “I won’t sponsor the Dream Act” Sanchez and defense lobbyist John Saylor that made it into my previous post, Blue Dog Duchess. The pic (taken in Italy and first posted on another blog) did not identify the guy in the photo. Perhaps, I thought, this guy is just the Congresswoman’s boyfriend and not Saylor. If that were true, then Cockroach People would gladly post a correction.
It turns out that the guy in the picture is John Saylor after all (or an identical twin) . Cockroach People was able to obtain these pictures of the Congresswoman and Mister Saylor (possibly taken at this conference where they were both on the agenda). Note the name badge on Saylor’s lapel. Sanchez’s allies have been commenting at the various blogs linking the Italy photo. They have been accusing everyone of working for Ceci Iglesias, as if an ad hominem attack is supposed to deter people from the truth. They also have been insisting that the guy in the Italy pic is not Saylor. Let’s see what they have to say about these pics.
Come on Sanchez. Come clean.

About this blog
While some people look at cockroaches as disgusting pests, I view them as resilient organisms that predate humans and will likely outlive us as well. People of color, the poor, the downtrodden, and the oppressed, much like cockroaches, are often despised, feared and in some cases have been the objects of extermination.
I started this blog as an attempt to understand the complicated world we live in. Things have changed since the old days of conquest, colonization, and slavery. Anonymous living, consumerism, and mass media have made it difficult to identify the forces that make modern-day oppression possible. Thus, posts here tend to focus on corruption, media, bureaucracy, ethics, economics, law, human rights, etc...in short, I try to take a second-order inquiry into assumptions and systems that some of us take for granted. I also take time to challenge stereotypes that function to place us in a box. Occasionally, I just rant.

Who cares. I am still voting for her because I don’t want Van Tran to win. Furthermore, I don’t care if she hasn’t sponsored The Dream Act.

Saylor is a pathetic pretender who claims to have scored with Loretta, but he’s not even in the game. He’s not even her friend. At best, he’s an acquaintance. These innocent photos mean nothing. Loretta has been in a committed, exclusive relationship with her long-term partner, Jack Einwechter, for years. Everything else is bull. There is no “affair” and no conflict of interest. Just a lobbyist moron (Saylor) who has been grossly exaggerating his relations with a congresswoman. That’s typical lobbyist behavior. Move on, please.

Sorry Jackal, if only Loretta would say what you said, then we could all move on…she has yet to address the conflict of interest claims people made even about her committed relationship with Einwechter when he was part of another “committed” relationship. Again its not about the love its about claims of corruption. She should just come clean instead of having her friends and lackeys troll the blogosphere.

Ok, fair enough, Rey. Sanchez can’t blame you for raising these questions–either about Saylor or conflicts. But the story with Einwechter is that he split with his wife and filed for divorce. Happens every day in America. He and Sanchez have been together for years. If it was messy in the past, that’s all been sorted out. Einwechter is supporting his kids and has done everything legally. He even has a good relationship with his ex-wife. Saylor has been spreading lies about his alleged relationship with Sanchez. That was my main point. If you look into it, you’ll find that Einwechter is a lawyer and has not used his relationship with Sanchez to advance his career or business interests in any way. There is no conflict there. I don’t know about Saylor’s lobbying, but he has no romantic relationship with Sanchez. Thanks.

Why doesn’t Sanchez just come out and acknowledge Einwechter then? I tried to ask her about this, as Einwechter has arranged meetings with the Congresswoman on behalf of his client, the Kurdistan Regional Government. You can see that here:

But instead of just answering the bloggers’ questions, Sanchez doesn’t say anything. Now it has also been alleged that Sanchez hooked up with Einwechter when he was still in the army and married — that is against Article 134 in UCMJ. She of all people, should know that it isn’t cool to hook up with a military guy who has a bunch of kids. How is that good for military morale?
Yes, divorce happens all the time, and it is wonderful that Einwechter is supporting his many children. But if things occurred as alleged, then Sanchez has some explaining to do.

Maybe so,Adriana. All in good time. I’m sure she’ll tell her story sooner or later. Van Tran will probably make an issue out of the relationship, but by the time that happens they’ll probably be married. For now, Loretta and Jack are just trying to be happy and make a life together.

Did a little research. John Saylor, the moron in the picture with Loretta, is a known liar. He’s one of these Washington name-droppers who managed to snap a few photos with a congresswoman and then claim he had an affair. He is just like the balloon boy father or the White House gate crashers–professional attention hog.

I missed your response. Any proof that Saylor is a “known liar?”
